Eating out - in Criccieth

In Criccieth and in walking distance, we have 6 restaurants, 4 cafes, 4 pubs, 2 chip shops and our famours Cadwaladers Ice Cream shop

All of the restaurants listed below are recommended by our guests and serve freshly prepared food. They tend to open between approx 6 pm and 9 pm. We would recommend booking in advance as all of these restaurants get booked very quickly, especially in season, on weekends or when the weather is good.

Dylan's

Situated on the beach, in a famous art deco building designed by Clough Williams Ellis (Portmeirion). They offer everything you dream of, lobster, various fish, pizza, meat & pasta dishes – all fresh and well presented. One of the best restaurants in North Wales. Must book well in advance.

Moelwyn

Only five minutes walk, this restaurant overlooks the sea and in good weather, it is possible to dine on the balcony – so this is the one if you are feeling romantic! Nice surroundings. Home-cooked food. The views are lovely and you can make a long evening of it by having a drink in their private bar/lounge area, before and after your meal. Also open for light lunches. The

Bron Eifion Hotel

Bron Eifion is a most beautiful country house hotel, down a long drive in it’s own gardens – about 20 minutes walk from Glyn y Coed. Perfect for a special occasions – lunch, afternoon tea or evening meal.

Caerwylan Hotel

Amazing food with a bar/lounge area overlooking the esplanade. Caerwylan has a Mitchellin star-rating. The presentation and the taste of the food is mmmmm gorgeous. I usually feel as though I should take a photograph of it rather than eat it!

Just a couple of minutes walk. Very popular so you usually need to book in advance. Excellent freshly prepared and cooked food. Good choice on the menu and good sized portions, including fish & vegetarian meals too. Offer children’s menu, an a la Carte menu or a set 2 / 3-course menu which is good value.

Rhyd-Ddu  LL54 6TL   (Between Carnearfon and Beddgelert, looking up at Snowdon)

The 15 mile drive, via Beddgelert, to Rhyd-Ddu is stunning from the minute you leave Criccieth, with sea, river and mountain scenery. You can then drive home via Penygroes which is shorter but also scenic.

This is our favourite pub/restaurant – not only is the food excellent (not pub grub!) but the busy atmosphere is very casual and fun as it is full of walkers, climbers and campers. Recommend booking.

Beautiful views over the water and they have a balcony.
A short drive from Criccieth. During the day, many guests walk to Borth y Gest, have lunch at the Moorings and catch the bus back. Open as a cafe during the day and a restaurant at night with quality, fresh food. Always full!

Situated on by the river in Beddgelert.  Very popular with locals and tourists.  Beddgelert is a picturesque village, just 12 miles from Criccieth and well worth a visit.  Have a meal and visit one of the pubs too, for a good atmosphere.

Our favorite place to go for an ice cream, the award winning Glaslyn Ices can be found in the middle of Beddgelert winning the hearts of visitors with an amazing and delicious selection of ice creams.
 
The chefs at the pizzeria were trained by an Italian chef, so as you can imagine the pizzas are fantastic!
